:Sigh: Deaf ears. Sucks. I wonder how many times minister was the medicine to cure his suicidal thoughts. Most likely just gave them fuel.

Coming up for air...
by SwampThing ingood morning forum members,.
for those of you who have left the cult, how do you deal with the self-righteous, holier-than-thou, nose-in-the-air arrogance of the wts and those mindless zombies who bow to its every command?.
i am currently halfway through crisis of conscience.

I'm glad your researching these things with so much vigor. Shows that you really care. Just don't prejudge all witnesses. Might sound kind of stupid but your not much better than the people that you are starting to dislike if you prejudge all of them in that manner. Glad to see that your searching to overcome your friend's shortcomings cause it happens a lot. Wish more people, and me had that much life then the world would be much better.

Surprisingly I had a talk today just about that thing. The brother that gave it brought it in a very safe... way. I can see a few people (Or prolly just in my head) getting a little aggitated when they said weaker vessel and all that but he brought it off safe. You actually had to look to find the majorly objectionable parts about it.
However, I feel that it's half and half also. Women and men might take what people say or do differently but when it comes down to it, it's different but equal all the same. Our weak points and our strong points are equal in my oppinion. Just different in general. Not trying to stereotype everybody because plenty of people (hardly nobody in fact once I think about it) don't live by the stereotypes but you have to admit everybody is different and you have to take those differences and put them in a good positive way to make the marriage work. I totally dislike it when people talk about how "So and so's" divorce rate is lower than other "So and so's" That doesn't say much... just can say that you guys like staying in unsuccessful marriages more than the first So and so. That's why I'm not all too crazy about divorce but of course now I'm rambling.
Oh and by the way most people prolly can tell but I barely come to this site anymore. I was once like the hobo that never would get off the street but now I'm the hobo that seems to never beg for money lol. Bad analogy I know.

ya once you're saved you can do whatever you want since you are saved. Hell is a weird place. The Apocolypse of Peter that was written like 400 years after the bible was finished really pushed the hell idea cause they talked about fornicators being hanged by their you know what's and different things. All that really pushed the hell idea.
Hell would be interesting in my uneventful life it seems Lol. Wouldn't mind hell all too much. Definately wouldn't mind eternity in the ground. That seems like freakin paradise...

The Watchtower magazine kind of sucks...
by Obviously Secret ini was at the meeting the other day and this brother gave a really really good talk (waits for the stones and sticks to be thrown at him).
but seriously it was a very good talk just because it was a good talk.
he actually talked about jesus and different things and he talked about very deep issues and he brought it out great.

lol they didn't talk about the watchtower at all. My mom slightly hinted by saying, "Oh that watchtower was good also." (Then a long lull) "BUT REMEMBER WHEN THE BROTHER TALKED ABOUT HUMAN GOVERNMENT IN HIS TALK OH MY GOD SO GREAT!!!"
Lol most people don't like the watchtower all too much they look forward more to the talks. And when the talks is bad you I know. My mom doesn't talk about the meeting at all when the talk is bad. But when it's good. Gonna be sayin Jehovah till tuesday lol. Kind of like it when she's happy just when she gets crazy with it that's when I worry.

How does the WT explain "The Truth will Set You Free???"
by Confucious innow that i'm really free with truth.
i was wondering how the wt explains this scripture, since their members are in bondage.
i was told by the lady that studied with me that jw are free from superstitions, etc.

I was at the meeting the other day and this brother gave a really really good talk (Waits for the stones and sticks to be thrown at him). But seriously it was a very good talk just because it was a good talk. He actually talked about Jesus and different things and he talked about very deep issues and he brought it out great. It kind of made my day in a way. But then.... The watchtower comes along... and I read about how you should give even more to the cause. And tell stories about people giving up everything for it... and it just bah... was crap pretty much sorry but it was. I'm glad I know my family have way good and they won't REALLY give up everything to do God's work because shoot... having money is good at times... and not worrying about bill to bill is kind of good at times. But I dunno I kind of feel for the people who are actually giving up everything for the cause. I mean even if they get to that beautiful place in the universe I still feel sorry for them and their struggles that are kind of self imposed in this life. Kind of makes me sad at times... at least I have the fun loving JW youth to keep me company. Lol JW kids are some of the craziest funny things in the world... well where I stay anyways. Most of the older folk just seem out of it in a way... I'ma try to at least help the kids out so they won't be like that in the future.

a sad comment regarding Jesus
by anew ini realized, the other day, how far the wt has really gone from the original gospels.
i was having a minor argument (again) with my mother regarding my no longer being a witness.
she sarcastically asked me what i did believe in..was i going to go out and join those ... ... catholics?

Is It Possible To Reason With A Typical Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus infrom what i can see, it's nearly impossible to reason with a witness, even if you might consider them somewhat intelligent.
